Double Pane Insulated Glass
Also known as IGU (Insulated Glass Unit) or Thermal Pane, this consists of two glass panes separated by a spacer and sealed to form a single unit. First introduced in 1945, this glass is widely used in windows and doors for energy efficiency. If it fogs or breaks, only the sealed unit needs replacement, not the entire window.
Tempered Glass (Safety Glass)
This glass undergoes
heat treatment and rapid cooling, making it
four times stronger
than standard glass. If broken, it
shatters into small, rounded pieces, reducing the risk of injury. It can withstand temperatures up to
400°F.
